Bihar is typically not known for its lakes. Nonetheless, there are a few lakes in Bihar that are noteworthy. Here are some of Bihar's most notable lakes:
Kanwar Lake: Kanwar Lake is the largest freshwater oxbow lake in Asia. It is in the district of Begusarai. It covers about 67 square kilometres and is known for having a lot of different plant and animal species, as well as a lot of bird species.
Ghora Katora Lake: Ghora Katora Lake is a natural lake in the Nawada district. It is surrounded by beautiful hills. It is a popular place for tourists to go, and people can rent boats there.
Matsyagandha Lake: Matsyagandha Lake is a man-made lake in Northern Bihar, India. It is in the Sattar Kataiya block of the Saharsa district.
Anupam Lake: Anupam Lake is near the town of Bhabhua in the Kaimur district. It is in the Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary.
Kharagpur Lake: This is one of the most beautiful lakes in Munger. The Maharaja of Darbhanga added a reservoir to make it even more beautiful.
