Vishnuprayag
Vishnuprayag lies at the confluence of Alaknanda River and Dhauliganga River in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is said, it is the place where Lord Vishnu appeared in front of Sage Narada for first time. It is also the location for 400 MW hydro power project. The famous Badrinath temple lies near the Vishnuprayag.
Nandaprayag
Nandaprayag lies at the confluence of Alaknanda River and Nandakini River in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It was once the capital of legendary Yadu kingdom.
Karnprayag
Karn Prayag lies at the confluence of Alaknanda and Pindar River. The Pindar River originates from the Pindar glacier, below the Nanda Devi hill range. According to the legends, Karna, a significant character in Mahabharata, performed the penance here to earn Kavacha and Kundala. The region is also mentioned in the legendary poems Meghaduta and Abhijanam-Shakuntalam by Kalidasa.
Rudraprayag
Rudraprayag confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. According to the legends, Lord Shiva performed his mystical Tandava which is the source of the cycle of creation, preservation and dissolution. The famous Shiva Kedarnath temple lies near Rudraprayag.
Devprayag
It is the place where Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and forms Ganga. It lies in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
Sonprayag
Sonprayag lies at the confluence of Mandakini and Basuki Rivers in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand.
Keshav Prayag
Keshav Prayag lies at the confluence of Alaknanda and Saraswati River near Mana Village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Mana is the last village before the Mana Pass and is 24 kilometres from the border of India and Tibet. Badrinath Temple lies at the distance of 3 km from Mana Village.
Ganesh Prayag
Ganesh Prayag lies at the confluence of Bhagirathi and Bhilangana Rivers in Tehri-Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
Prayagraj
Prayagraj, literally the king of all Prayag, lies at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati river at Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh.
