Madhya Pradesh is no different from others. From the Stone Age, people settled on the land of Madhya Pradesh nearby river valleys and this pattern continues even today. Most of the modern cities in Madhya Pradesh are situated on the river banks. Indore is the finest example of this phenomenon which is situated on the river bank of Khan (Kahn) river.
