Agroclimatic Zones of Haryana |
Zone I
Districts: Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat, Karnal and Sonipat.
Area Cover: 32 per cent of total area of Haryana
Zone II
Districts: Rohtak, Faridabad, Palwal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa.
Area Cover: 39 per cent of total area of Haryana
Zone III
Districts: Jhajjar, Gurugram, Nuh (Mewat), Rewari, Mahendragarh and Bhiwani.
Area Cover: 29 per cent of total area of Haryana
The area which falls under the Zone I and II is suitable for wheat, rice, pulses, cotton and sugarcane where as the area which falls under the Zone III is ideal for pearl millet and oilseeds. This area is also suitable for arid-horticulture.
