Maharana Pratap Award 2018 (Rajasthan Sports Award) |
Maharana Pratap Award is the highest sporting award for a sportsperson in the state of Rajasthan.
The Award includes a citation, bronze statue of Maharana Pratap, and a cash prize of one lakh rupee.
The awardees are selected on their performance in the last three years.
Gopal Saini (Athletics), Rajkumar Ahlawat (Athletics), Hamida Bano (Athletics), Laxman Singh (Golf), Varsha Soni (Hockey), Gangotri Bhandari(Hockey), Raghuvir Singh (Equestrian), J. M. Khan (Equestrian), Prahlad Singh (Equestrian), Vishal Singh (Equestrian), and Dr. Karni Singh (Shooting) were the first recipient of the award for the year 1982-83.
In 2018, Sapna Punia (Athletics), Khetram (Athletics), Sarvesh Pareek (Archery) won the prestigious award for the year 2016-17. Suman Dhaka (Parasports), Manohar Lal (Cycling), Sunder Singh Gurjar (Parasports), and Abhilesh Parashar (Gymnastics) won the award for 2017-18.
These awards are given on same night along with Guru Vashist Award.
