List of Governors of Uttar Pradesh

The Governor of Uttar Pradesh is the constitutional head of Uttar Pradesh. He is appointed by the President of India for a term of five years, and holds office at the President's pleasure.

Sarojini Naidu was the first Governor of Uttar Pradesh (then known as United Province). She was also the first female governor of any state in India. She held the office from 15th August 1947 to 2nd March 1949.

Ram Naik is the current Governor of Uttar Pradesh. He took the charge of the Governor's office on 22 July 2014.
