The Governor of Nagaland is the constitutional head of Nagaland. He is appointed by the President of India for a term of five years, and holds office at the President's pleasure.
Vishnu Sahay was the first Governor of Nagaland. He was in the office from 1 December 1963 to 16 April 1968. Padmanabha Acharya is the current Governor of Nagaland. He took the charge on 19 July 2014.
