List of Governors of Gujarat

The Governor of Gujarat is the constitutional head of the Indian state of Gujarat. He is appointed by the President of India and holds office at the President's pleasure.

Mehdi Nawaz Jung was the first Governor of Gujarat. He held the office from 1st May 1960 to 1st August 1965.

Om Prakash Kohli is the current and 24th Governor of Gujarat. He took the charge on 16 July 2014.

Sharda Mukherjee was the first woman Governor of Gujarat. She served from 14 August 1978 to 6 August 1983. She also happened to be first woman Governor of Andhra Pradesh, where she served in the office from 5 May 1977 to 14 August 1978.
