The Chief Minister of
Puducherry is the executive head of the union territory of Puducherry. He is appointed by the President of India and sworn-in by the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. Since 6 June 2016, V. Narayanasamy of the Indian National Congress has been the Chief Minister of Puducherry.
Edouard Goubert is the first chief minister of the Puducherry whereas N. Rangaswamy is the longest serving chief minister of Puducherry. Puducherry also seen President's rule six times.
