Pampa Award (Kannada Literary Award Winners 1987-2017) |
The award is named after the first Kannada poet Adikavi Pampa.
The award comprises of a cash prize of 3 lakh rupees, a shawl, a citation, and a memento.
Prior to 1996, the award was given to single work, but afterwards the award is given on the basis of lifetime achievements.
Kuvempu was the first recepient of the Pampa Awards in 1987 for his work Sri Ramayana Darshanam.
